E-visa Options- Standard and Urgent Visa

There are two basic options when it comes to the Azerbaijan e-Visa for all Maltese citizens. These are the Standard and the Urgent Visas.

You must describe the purpose of your visit and your expected arrival date for each of these visas. Make sure you have all of the relevant documentation and allow three working days for the application to be processed before you expect to enter the country.

The differences between the two categories of visas (Standard and Urgent) are described below.

  • Standard Visa – This visa may be obtained in as little as three business days
  • Urgent Visa- The urgent visa can be obtained in three hours

These visas are each valid for 90 days. You are only permitted to stay for 30 days out of the 90 days. During that 90-day period, you are free to enter the nation whenever you choose, as long as you follow the rules.

  • The Standard Visa

Our Standard E-Visa is processed within just 3-5 working days, enabling you to start planning your trip quickly and efficiently. This visa is valid for 90 days, offering flexibility to choose the optimal time for your visit. Once in the country, you can enjoy a stay of up to 30 days, giving you plenty of time to explore and experience the local culture, sights, and sounds. Whether you’re visiting for tourism or business, our visa makes your journey smoother and more enjoyable.

  • The Urgent Visa

As a result of Azerbaijan’s urgent e-Visa service, qualified visitors may have their visas issued in as little as 24 hours if they qualify. The urgent e-visa, like the standard e-visa, permits the visitor to remain in the nation for a maximum of 30 days, while the visa itself is valid for 90 days. This implies that the visitor may visit Azerbaijan at any moment within the 90-day validity period. Still, they are not permitted to remain in the country for more than 30 days at any time.

Relationship between Azerbaijan and Malta

Malta and Azerbaijan share good diplomatic relations since January 1995. Since 2016 Gudrat Hasanguliyev headed the working group on the Malta-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary relations which were established in Azerbaijan’s parliament. Important dignitaries from both countries exchange visits to discuss official matters and keep the relationship going.

Both countries have signed several memorandums of understanding. For instance, on December 15, 2014, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the countries in the Oil and Gas sector in Baku. Another MOU was signed on April 29, 2016, based on bilateral relations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
