Opting for the Azerbaijan e-Visa for Japanese citizens is easy if you want to travel to Azerbaijan as a tourist, for business, or for any other purpose. The two basic types of e-Visas you can opt for are the Standard and the Urgent visa.
Azerbaijan Visa Requirements for Japanese Citizens
Do you need to know what the basic Azerbaijan visa requirements are for Japanese citizens? Here are the basic documents that are required. Keep in mind that your passport and other travel documents should be valid for at least three months from the expiry date of your e-Visa.

The Azerbaijan visa online is of two types. These are:
- Standard Visa- The Standard e-Visa will take up to three days to receive. Apply for the Standard e-Visa at least three days before your intended date of travel.
- Urgent Visa- If you need to visit Azerbaijan on an urgent basis, you can apply for the Urgent e-Visa which can be obtained in as little as three hours.
The Standard and Urgent Visa are valid for 90 days from the time it is issued. Thus, you can enter Azerbaijan anytime within 90 days; however, you can only stay for 30 days. Use your e-Visa within the valid period; otherwise, it will be nullified.
Azerbaijan Tourist and Business Visa for Japanese Citizens
All Japanese citizens are allowed to apply for a tourist or a business visa. For a tourist visa, you will need all the documents and details that are mentioned above.
For those who want to visit Azerbaijan on business, a business visa will be required and you will need an application form. Business visas are valid for all those who want to conduct conferences, business meetings, arts and culture, trade fairs, technology, and other events.
The application form can be found online and you should have a printed copy you will be required to sign it and show it at border control.
Azerbaijan Visa Cost for Japanese Citizens
The Azerbaijan online visa costs for the Standard and the Urgent e-Visa are the same for all eligible countries including Japan.
The government fees for the standard visa are $26 and for the urgent is around $61. All nationalities will have to pay the same fees set by the government.
During the application process, you will come across a service fee depending on the different options you choose. As you go ahead with filling out the form you will get the total cost.
Relationship between Azerbaijan and Japan
Diplomatic relations were established between Azerbaijan and Japan on September 7, 1992. Japan was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan’s independence.
The Japanese Embassy in Azerbaijan has been functional since January 21, 2000. Azerbaijan opened an Embassy in Tokyo on October 1, 2002. Azerbaijan and Japan share good diplomatic relations and have signed several agreements over the years.
