Azerbaijan Visa Requirements for Korean Citizens

You will be required to enter some basic information when filling up the form online. Here are some of the Azerbaijan visa requirements for all citizens from the Republic of Korea. 

Requirements:

  • A digital copy of your passport including the biographical page 
  • An email address where you wish to receive your e-Visa 
  • The Azerbaijani address where you will be staying 
  • A valid method of payment

Make sure that your passport is valid for a minimum of three months after your e-Visa expires. Once you receive your e-Visa, get a printed copy as you will have to show it at border control.

E-visa Options- Standard and Urgent Visas

Keep in mind that when applying for the Azerbaijan e-Visa online, you will be required to enter the date on which you plan on entering as well as your medical information and how long you plan to stay in the country. 

The Azerbaijan e-Visa is of two types depending on the period in which it can be obtained. These are as follows.

  • Urgent Visa- This Urgent e-Visa is very useful if you need to travel to Azerbaijan urgently. After you apply for the Azerbaijan e-Visa, it can be obtained within three hours.
  • Standard Visa- The Standard e-Visa allows you to get it within three days. This is the regular time within which you can obtain an Azerbaijan e-Visa.

Once you get the Azerbaijan e-Visa, you will notice that it is issued for a total of 90 days. This means that you can enter anytime within the 90 days, but you cannot stay for over 30 days. Make sure to use your e-Visa during the days it is valid, otherwise, you will not be able to use it.

Azerbaijan Tourist and Business Visa for Korean Citizens 

As a citizen of the Republic of Korea, you may apply for an Azerbaijan tourist visa or business visa. The process for obtaining both the tourist and business visa is similar but for a business e-Visa, you will need to submit an application form as well. It is recommended to apply for the Azerbaijan e-Visa at least three working days before you plan on entering the country.

You will need a business visa if you want to attend conferences, business meetings, seminars, trade fairs, and other events. You will also need to state the reasons why you are entering Azerbaijan. This form can be downloaded and signed. Keep a printed copy as you will need to show it at border control.

Azerbaijan Visa Cost for Korean Citizens

There is a difference in price between the Standard Visa and the Urgent Visa. Since the Standard Visa can be obtained within three days, it will cost you $25 and the Urgent Visa on the other hand will cost you $60.

The Azerbaijan online visa cost is the same for all countries but a service fee is applicable as well. As you are filling out the form for the Azerbaijan e-Visa, you will get an idea of the total cost. Payments can be made using Mastercard, Visa, and UnionPay. The card need not be in your name.

Relationship between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea

Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea share good relations with deepening cultural ties and bilateral relations. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992. 

Azerbaijan imports vehicles, electrical machinery, computers, and vehicles from Korea, whereas Korea mainly imports juices, precious metals, and bedding items from Azerbaijan. In the South Caucasus region, Azerbaijan is the main trading partner of the Republic of Korea. 

On February 6, 2020, Azerbaijan and Korea had a follow-up meeting of the Joint Commission of Economic Cooperation where cooperation between the two countries was discussed and a protocol was signed.
